On Tuesday 4th February, two football teams went to Parmiters to play in a tournament. Both teams played amazingly well with huge amounts of effort and team spirit. They did us all proud. Well done to all the girls. Well done to Team A who are through to the finals on Thursday 27th February. Good luck!
The children in Apple Nursery have been busy this week constructing and creating homes for the animals in ‘The Gruffalo’s Child’ story using a range of different materials. Can you spot the owl in his treetop house? Or fox in his underground house? Is that the Gruffalo in the Gruffalo cave?
Apple Nursery have been learning about how people celebrate Chinese New Year. We enjoyed exploring our Chinese themed tray and dancing to Chinese music as well as watching ‘Let’s Celebrate’ on CBeebies to learn more about Chinese New Year.
Apple Nursery’s topic this term is ‘Let it Snow’. This week we have been reading the story ‘Elmer in the Snow’ and exploring ice. We enjoyed touching the ice and talking about what we know about ice. We discovered that using salt and leaving ice in a warm place helps it melt and turns ice into water.
Apple Nursery enjoyed a visit from Santa this week and had fun watching Mr Marvel.
We have been very busy making our own Stick Man. The children are working on these in groups and by the end of the week they will bring their own home.
A special thank you to the Friends of Tanners Wood who donated funds which allowed us to buy some amazing new toys. We have had great fun road testing them!
Apple Nursery enjoyed walking around the school grounds looking for signs of autumn. We collected different leaves and then did some sorting and counting back in the classroom.
Apple Nursery children made some fantastic bridges out of newspaper for their home learning challenge.
The children enjoyed discussing their achievements this half term with each other. Well done to all the children who attended. You have all worked really hard with your learning.
