Over the past two days the children have presented their business ideas to a panel of representatives from the Friends of Tanners Wood. The presentations were of a high standard and all children were awarded their funding. They will now be busily getting organised for the fair on Sunday 30th June.
Year 6 enjoyed learning about how charities make money and how they differ from profit making businesses. Thank you to Mrs Waters for talking to us about social enterprises. The children learnt a great deal which will benefit their own mini- enterprise project presentations.
Months of planning and preparation involving all year groups across Tanners Wood school came together this weekend to create an amazing float all about Paddington 2. Well done and thank you to all involved, particularly the Year 2 parents who have given up so much of their time to make everything happen and to the stars of the show – the children who were part of the parade. We are proud to have won the award for ‘Best use of recycled materials’!
Year six are helping with the carnival float this morning.
The children enjoyed having breakfast together before today’s reading paper.
The children enjoyed a whole school history show which used drama and comedy to bring history to life in a fun and engaging way. The children seemed to thoroughly enjoy the performance.
To support their understanding of active and passive grammar terms, the children were set the task of creating humorous sentences in both active and passive voice.
Here is a great example of Andy Goldsworthy style art that the children did with Miss Benn on the KS2 field! I’m sure you will agree it is beautiful!
Don’t forget to send in all of your books that have been read for the exchange! We are in need of some Year 3/4 level books to any upper KS2 children, have a look at what you have! We look forward to seeing you tomorrow!
