In science, we have been learning about inheritance and evolution. We have used genes from a mum and dad Reebop to make our very own babies.
Today, we had our second house event of the year; rapid fire 6Ts for Y3/and hockey for Y5/6. A massive thank you to all the Y6 children who helped break up the ice patches and set up the equipment. An even bigger thank you to the referees who, as usual, did an amazing job at making sure all children were involved and kept a fair score.
We managed to have two games each, I will announce the winners in Talent Assembly tomorrow and present the winning house with their certificate.
We are very proud of the choir who sang 7 Christmas songs to the residents of Arden House. Well done everyone! Merry Christmas!
Today, the house captains, head boy, head girl, deputy head boy and deputy head girl organised a film quiz for Key Stage 2. Year 3 and 4 did their quiz this morning.
Today in D&T we investigated soups and considered texture, appearance and taste.
The children enjoyed tasting a variety of soup today as part of the design phase in their DT project.
Today, the children in year six were filmed by Watford Football Club’s Community and and Education Trust for their Positive Minds Project which has just ended in school. The six week project has focused on mental health and strategies to help us all be more resilient with the challenges that life throws at us.
We have been so impressed with the quality of work from the Year 6 topic home learning this term, that we thought we would share a few with you.
In maths we made our Christmas cakes to decorate and sell at the school fair on 2nd December. Be sure to get yours!
We will be giving year six parents the opportunity to buy the ones their own child has decorated before the fair so look out for the letter.
