Pine Class Entries
We have been learning about the magnetism of the North Pole. We magnetised a needle attached to a cork, floated it in water and it moved to point North. We then used a magnet to perform a magic trick to make the needle move without touching it.
Book Exchange returns next week! Years 4-6 will be in Monday afternoon and EYFS up to Year 3 will be on Wednesday. Children need to bring in a book, leave it in their bag and then when called they will have the chance to go to the dining room and exchange for a new one! Simple!
We have been learning about the important lines of latitude and longitude to locate important places relating to explorers of the Arctic and Antarctic.
We connected our learning in geography, science and maths.
On Sunday 6th October , over 80 pupils and parents took part in the 1k, 3k, 5k or 10k runs around Abbots Langley. It was an amazing turn out and fabulous to see so many green shirts! We have, for the 3rd year running, won the ‘best attendance’ trophy so well done to all of those who took part. Look at our fabulous Tanners team!
In art, we have been learning about Emma Bridgewater. We worked together as a class to recreate one of her designs.
Mrs Vassiliou treated Pine class to a few games of Biscuit Bingo. All allergies and dietary requirements were catered for and a lot of fun was had by all.
The children have planned twelve business ideas for the school fair on Sunday, 30th June. Come along and try their ideas.
