Oak class have really enjoyed their day digging for artefacts and learning even more about the Anglo Saxons! Here are a few pictures from our eventful day…… and yes at one point we did investigate poo!
Don’t forget to send in all of your books that have been read for the exchange! We are in need of some Year 3/4 level books to any upper KS2 children, have a look at what you have! We look forward to seeing you tomorrow!
Here are the winners for KS1, Years 3/4 and Years 5/6. Daisy from Beech was the EYFS winner. Well done to everyone for a great effort with this homework, as a whole staff we were very impressed!
The scene is set! We are ready to take delivery of our book fair on Monday! We will be open straight after school all week. Monday will be in Larch Class and then in the hall for the remainder of the week. Come and support us, keep your children reading and help raise funds for our school library!
On Tuesday, 8 members of the school football team had a fantastic opportunity to attend a Watford football club primary stars tournament. The team played amazing football and were the team in our group to beat. Unfortunately St Albert the Great were stronger and they went through to the semi finals, then the final which they then won. Mrs Chapman, Mr Creamer and I were very proud of their footballing skills and team work.
Today, we had our second house event of the year; rapid fire 6Ts for Y3/and hockey for Y5/6. A massive thank you to all the Y6 children who helped break up the ice patches and set up the equipment. An even bigger thank you to the referees who, as usual, did an amazing job at making sure all children were involved and kept a fair score.
We managed to have two games each, I will announce the winners in Talent Assembly tomorrow and present the winning house with their certificate.
We are very proud of the choir who sang 7 Christmas songs to the residents of Arden House. Well done everyone! Merry Christmas!
Today, the house captains, head boy, head girl, deputy head boy and deputy head girl organised a film quiz for Key Stage 2. Year 3 and 4 did their quiz this morning.
It’s been a busy week in Oak class this week! Today we focused on anti bullying and got the children involved in lots of different activities to remind them how important it is to be kind and respectful to each other.
The children created t-shirts, deciphered coded messages and created a word bank of how they would like to be described to others. We had a great day in year 4 and to top it off we ended the day with cake! Here are some lovely Tanners Woods cakes that got donated this morning….. they were delicious!
Thank you to everyone that donated and bought cakes today, it is much appreciated!
This morning we have enjoyed an assembly from Revd. Waddell. Mr Gray from Three Rivers Refugee Centre also came to personally thank the children for the donations made. May we take this opportunity to thank you all for the generous donations made to such a worthy and local charity.
