We’ve had a full on afternoon investigating how strong paper is. We thought it was weak but if you changed it it can be much stronger!
Due to the bad weather we were unable to visit Abbots Langley for our sports afternoon. Year 2 kindly let us join them for dancing!
The children have planned twelve business ideas for the school fair on Sunday, 30th June. Come along and try their ideas.
Months of planning and preparation involving all year groups across Tanners Wood school came together this weekend to create an amazing float all about Paddington 2. Well done and thank you to all involved, particularly the Year 2 parents who have given up so much of their time to make everything happen and to the stars of the show – the children who were part of the parade. We are proud to have won the award for ‘Best use of recycled materials’!
Firstly, thank you for all your donations of 2L plastic bottles. We have been busy using them to put our greenhouse together with the help of Eco Club. We have completed one side of roof which takes 95 bottles! We need more donations and if anyone would be willing to come in and help after school one day please let the office know.
Also, please could we have no more milk bottles. Thank you again for your support.
The children enjoyed a whole school history show which used drama and comedy to bring history to life in a fun and engaging way. The children seemed to thoroughly enjoy the performance.
Here are the winners for KS1, Years 3/4 and Years 5/6. Daisy from Beech was the EYFS winner. Well done to everyone for a great effort with this homework, as a whole staff we were very impressed!
The scene is set! We are ready to take delivery of our book fair on Monday! We will be open straight after school all week. Monday will be in Larch Class and then in the hall for the remainder of the week. Come and support us, keep your children reading and help raise funds for our school library!
On Tuesday, 8 members of the school football team had a fantastic opportunity to attend a Watford football club primary stars tournament. The team played amazing football and were the team in our group to beat. Unfortunately St Albert the Great were stronger and they went through to the semi finals, then the final which they then won. Mrs Chapman, Mr Creamer and I were very proud of their footballing skills and team work.
