We were so excited to finally have our animal workshop!
A selection of Y1 and Y2 children are taking part in a multi sports lunch club and have enjoyed learning how to play dodgeball! They made sure they ran quickly!
The children chose a total to make. They then were asked to think of a range of addition and subtraction sums which totalled their chosen amount. Fab calculating Year one! ?
The children have been exploring different ways of making different totals. They have been recording these in a variety of sums and using cuisenaire rods for support. Check out our work!
Each class has been working hard to create some fabulous displays around our school. The theme was ‘Teamwork’ and they have certainly shown their teamwork skills in various ways with wonderful links to their learning.
In Maths the children are regrouping the second number in the sum to help them calculate more independently and refine their number bond skills. ?
In Science the children are developing their knowledge of individual British birds, whilst playing a classic game of “top trumps!” Who is winning?
The children are adding using part models and showing their answers using cuisenaire rods. We are getting to know what the numbers stand for in two digit numbers. New learning.?
Exploring during our geography lesson.
