In Elm Class today we became historians. We looked at a variety of evidence linked to the moon landing and thought of questions which would need answering before we could believe it.
We videoed one another retelling the story of The Gruffalo. We used actions and story maps to help us.
Today we had a visit from Ravana the evil Hindu god. We learnt a new drama activity called conscience alley.
This morning we have enjoyed an assembly from Revd. Waddell. Mr Gray from Three Rivers Refugee Centre also came to personally thank the children for the donations made. May we take this opportunity to thank you all for the generous donations made to such a worthy and local charity.
We learnt about the Hindu festival of Divali which is today. We then coloured rangoli pictures which are also part of the festival.
We have had an exciting day immersing ourselves in all things Scottish. We visited Edinburgh in maths and made tartan in art.
We are learning to use a new resource called cuisinaire. It is helping us to recognise equivalence.
We have had great fun looking at our shadows. We experimented by drawing round shadows of objects before lunch. After lunch we predicted how they may have changed and went to check.
Elm class enjoyed a walk in the school grounds looking and finding things to show us seasonal changes.
