We learnt about the Hindu celebration of Divali which is today. We coloured rangoli patterns which are part of the celebrations.
This week in Year 1 we have been looking at the weather and seasons. We have been measuring different types of weather and also measuring our shadows to look at the length of the day!
During our Geography days we have been learning about Scotland. In Maths we have been plotting a route on a map of Edinburgh using the points of a compass. Today we went outside and followed our routes on a big map!
We had a visit from Watford Schools Trust, a Christian charity. She spoke to us about Harvest Festivals and we thought about what we were thankful for.
In Cypress we have been using maps and atlases to explore different climate zones.
In Year 1 we have been learning about the seasons. We want in a walk to see if we could find any signs of Autumn!
Today we learnt how to get out the apparatus and had a go at exploring it in different ways.
The Tanners Wood Book Exchange will be taking place for KS1 in Holly Class straight after school next Monday. Bring any books you have finished with and exchange them for new ones for free!
Today in Year 1 we have been rehearsing a verse from a poem in groups. We added our own actions then performed them to the class.
