Shark sizes!!

Ash class have thoroughly enjoyed learning about the lengths of different sharks. They counted in 5’s and worked out that Ms Schofield needed to lie top to tail six times to show the length of a basking shark, the second largest shark. They were very keen to find out how long a whale shark is as well.

Apparatus

Ash class were very confident using the apparatus this morning. All took risks and tried something new. They also had lots of fun pretending to be pirates. They climbed rigging, swooshed cutlasses and scrubbed the decks – arrr!

KS2 Dodgeball Event

Well done to KS2 for a super dodgeball event, great enthusiasm and enjoyment was shown by all. Thank you very much to the sports council for refereeing so well and helping the younger team members. We left the field alone- Y5/6 played on KS2 playground, Y3/4 in the hall and outside on KS1 playground. A great morning had by all! The photos below illustrate this.

Junior Challenge at Cassiobury park

A group of children from Tanners Wood took part in a run around Cassiobury park to help raise money for the Peace Hospice. Amy and Luke ran as representatives of KS2 and William, Freddie and Max ran as representative s of KS1.

We have since been informed that William, Freddie and Max came third overall in the race as a Tanners Wood team!

Well-done and rthank you for raising money!

Y5 cross country county run!

On Saturday 24th March at 10am, five Y5’s competed in the county final at Cassiobury park. It was rather damp and cold but we were very excited to take part. There were children who were part of competitive running clubs there so tension was high! They ran with great confidence and did themselves proud. Well done Zoe, Toby, Ben C, Kyle and Jacob.

Jacob came second in the boys race and Ben C, Toby and Kyle came in the twenties out of fifty boys. Well done all! We are very proud!

A super well done to Zoe, our only girl representative, who came in the twenties out of fifty girls. Well done!

Sports Relief

Yesterday, Ash class completed their daily mile with a difference. Some children chose to roll or carry a hula hoop, throw, catch or kick a ball, whilst some chose to just run. After the daily mile the children explored hula hoops, balls and skipping ropes. They were also very enthusiastic about dance routines on ‘GoNoodle.’ Why not sign up to ‘GoNoodle’ for free at home?
