Watford Schools Trust visited Year 1 today to teach us all about the Bible. We learnt about the story of The Lost Sheep and even made our own Sheep!
In Science today, we learnt about the effects of UV light. We discussed what UV light is, how it enters our atmosphere and the damage it can cause to our bodies. We conducted an experiment where we closed our eyes for 30 seconds and then watched what happened to our pupils. We were amazed to see that our pupil shrunk as we opened our eyes!
Elm class had a visit from Watford Schools Trust this afternoon. We learnt about the parable of the Lost Sheep with the help of our very own shepherd.
Holly Class enjoyed trying to match the animals to their habitats.
Juniper class had a great time putting their designs into action as they started making their purses and wallets today. 🙂
It was particularly good to see how they supported each other with new skills. I was very proud of them. Keep it up!
Super story telling by these two pupils. Excellent use of adjectives, story language and expression! They know this story well. Beauty and the Beast experts. ??
Oak class spent an afternoon with Mrs Bastable who came in to help us learn about King David : poet, soldier and King. They studied Psalm 23 in the Beginners Bible and then chose a sentence from it to illustrate. We ended up the afternoon watching a fantastic clip learning about David and Goliath.
The children were a fantastic group displaying fabulous learning behaviours and making Mrs Waddell very proud. Well done Oak!
We have been exploring Beauty and the Beast. We used our imagination to build up sound scapes to demonstrate the sounds you might hear around the castle!
