Geography Enrichment Days

EYFS learnt about Italy during our Geography Curriculum Enrichment Days. We looked at a map of Italy, tasted some Italian food and learnt about some famous Italian landmarks as well as making pictures out of pasta and colouring an Italian flag. Some children shared their learning from home about Italy.

Curriculum Enrichment Days in Fir

We studied Kenya and really enjoyed learning all about this beautiful country. We learnt where it is in relation to the UK and about the different languages, food, ways of life and weather. At the end of the two days we created different mixed media pictures of the various landscapes. Take a look at some of our Savannah sunset pictures:

Boys football

On Tuesday 12th October, a team of Y6 boys went to Abbots Langley school to play a football match against Abbots Langley and Divine Saviour. They worked really well as a team and won against Divine Saviour 2-1 and at the last minute drew against Abbots Langley 2-2. Well done team! We look forward to playing St.Paul’s in November – we aim to win!

Phonics

In phonics this week we have learnt four new sounds – digraph ck and e, u, r. We have also learnt two tricky words, to and the. These words cannot be sounded out and need to be read by sight, “just like that.”
