Well done to all of the Year 5s who took part in the fun run, especially those pictured who came in the top ten!
Larch class were inspired by Kathleen, the producer of Star Wars. We learnt how to use blocks to code.
Coding is a computer languages used. We had to try and complete each level, adding more lines of code each time.
We have some super coders in Larch class.
This week in computing, we took part in an hour of code. To get into the Christmas spirit, the children completed coding on The Grinch. They had to make a drone move towards the presents, around trees and jump over reindeer!
On Thursday Fir Class had a visitor. Mrs Bastable from the Watford schools Trust came to talk to us about the Christmas story. It was a really interactive lesson, the children had puppets, puzzles and had to make sound effects to help them retell the Christmas story. We’re feeling festive ready for the Christmas Fair on Sunday!
Rowan have been planning their literary texts today based on the classic novel “A Christmas Carol.” We have also been acting out our ghosts, who will appear in our stories.
We have been so impressed with the quality of work from the Year 6 topic home learning this term, that we thought we would share a few with you.
We have practiced pulling scary faces which we would use to scare off an alien invasion! This is linked to the story we are using in English. We then made a word bank of descriptive words .
In Elm Class today we became historians. We looked at a variety of evidence linked to the moon landing and thought of questions which would need answering before we could believe it.
