Over the past two days the children have presented their business ideas to a panel of representatives from the Friends of Tanners Wood. The presentations were of a high standard and all children were awarded their funding. They will now be busily getting organised for the fair on Sunday 30th June.
We have begun division by practically solving word problems.
Year 6 enjoyed learning about how charities make money and how they differ from profit making businesses. Thank you to Mrs Waters for talking to us about social enterprises. The children learnt a great deal which will benefit their own mini- enterprise project presentations.
In Cypress we have been exploring pictures of different castles! We’ve come up with our own questions that we would like to find out about them.
Months of planning and preparation involving all year groups across Tanners Wood school came together this weekend to create an amazing float all about Paddington 2. Well done and thank you to all involved, particularly the Year 2 parents who have given up so much of their time to make everything happen and to the stars of the show – the children who were part of the parade. We are proud to have won the award for ‘Best use of recycled materials’!
In maths we are using scales on maps to help us calculate distance!
We became poets today, writing our own poems about things a princess loves.
Holly Class had lots of fun today debating the existence of dragons. They used different sources to help them form a valid argument.
We are so proud of the Roman shields that we made as part of our home learning. We can now really imagine what it was like to be a soldier in the Roman Army.
As our history of Watford topic drew to a close the children recorded everything they had learned in the style of a news reporter! We had great fun recording our news reports on the iPads!
